Matt's Story

Matt has been a volunteer firefighter since he was a teenager. He lost his home to the 2003 Canberra fires as well as being injured battling the blaze. In the 19-20 season he again faced the prospect of defending a family home, this time on the South Coast.

Gary's Story

Gary's Story

Gary Hooker won an Australian Fire Service Medal for his volunteer service, particularly for his contribution to the 19-20 fire season. This project will look to tell his story.

A series of documentary concepts based on firefighter stories, oral histories, video and photo media - development of individual stories and long form documentaries is underway
